About Amy

I moved to Asheville in 2011 and immediately felt ‘the Magic of the Mountains’. Asheville is one of those places that you can continually discover, making it feel like a vacation everyday.  Maybe that’s why so many people move here seeking a big life change – to heal their heart, soul, and bodies.

For more about the history of Asheville and the city’s roots in travel and hospitality check out my book, Historic Inns of Ashevillepublished by Arcadia Publishing. It includes almost two hundred photographs of Asheville, from the first downtown hotels with stage coach parking and livestock boarding, to the motor inns on Tunnel Road. Check out my history blog here: http://ashevillehistoricinns.wordpress.com

I have written for many local publications including the Laurel of Asheville, Food Life magazine, WNC Woman magazine, Mountain Xpress, and Capital @ Play. You can also read my work musings on books at Biblio.com

I’m currently working on a book about The Fresco being painted at Haywood Street in Asheville, North Carolina. I want everyone to know about this incredible piece of art and the people involved in making it, from the artists to the individuals they’re immortalizing in plaster and pigment. www.haywoodstreetfresco.org
